"VEDO VOCI" – Association of Parents with Deaf Children - ONLUS – was founded in 1995 by a group of parents with deaf children and it deals with the problems of the deaf with special reference to the realty of the Biella area.
The association intends to:
- be of help to families both with a moral-, as well as a practical and legal/administrative point of view;
- support the experimentation in the nursery-, primary and secondary schools of Cossato, adding the everyday experience from the inside of our families, which foresees the integration of the deaf children in the state school and the realisation of bilingualism (LIS - Italian sign language/Italian language);
- assure the young deaf the presence of Italian sign language interpreters in the secondary schools of the territory.
